Editorial policy

Who writes our guides

Guides are written and updated by the Haaniam Editorial Team. We write in plain language for people across Pakistan, and we do not accept payment to publish, change or promote a guide.

Where the facts come from

Facts about government services, utilities, fees, timings, documents and helplines come from the organisation's own official website or official app, such as NADRA, DGI&P, CDA, IESCO, SNGPL and SSGC. Each guide lists these sources at the end, with links.

We do not copy text from other websites. Where a rule depends on your circumstances, or we could not confirm it from an official source, we say so and point you to the official source instead of guessing.

Practical tips, such as checklists and safety advice, come from general good practice. They are clearly written as advice, not as official rules.

How guides are checked

Every guide shows a Last checked date. On that date we compared the helpline numbers, procedures and other facts in the guide with the official sources listed.

We aim to re-check every guide at least every six months, and sooner when an official source announces a change. If we cannot confirm a fact during a check, we remove it or mark it clearly.

Health, money and safety topics

Guides that touch on health, money, property or safety give general information only. They are not medical, legal or financial advice. For emergencies, call 15 (police) or 1122 (rescue).

Business listings

Business listings follow our separate listing policy. Guides may show listings related to the topic, but a listing appearing in a guide is not a recommendation.

Translations

Some guides and pages are available in Urdu and other languages of Pakistan. We publish a language version for search engines only after a fluent speaker has reviewed it. Unreviewed versions are available to readers but are not submitted to search engines.

Corrections

If you spot something wrong or out of date, please tell us with a link to the official source if you have one. We review every report, correct confirmed errors promptly and update the guide's Last checked date.
